Overview

The Houston Public Library (HPL) is celebrating National Library Card Sign-Up Month by encouraging Houstonians to sign up for a MY Link card and post a photo on social media from September 1 – September 30, 2023, to be entered into a drawing to win a set of Beats by Dre headphones.  

Prize

One winner will be selected to receive a set of Beats by Dre headphones. The selected winner will have their photo featured on the Houston Public Library social media pages.

Contest Rules and Details

To be eligible to win the Beats by Dre headphones applicants must: 

  • Become a new MY Link cardholder during the month of September. 

  • Follow the Houston Public Library on Facebook (www.facebook.com/houstonlibrary), Twitter (@houstonlibrary) or Instagram (@houstonpubliclibrary). 

  • Download Libby by Overdrive reading app and check out an eBook using Libby by September 30, 2023. 

  • Post an appropriate photo of you with #MYLink. 

  • Tag the Houston Public Library on Facebook (www.facebook.com/houstonlibrary), Twitter (@houstonlibrary) or Instagram (@houstonpubliclibrary). 

Post(s) Requirements:
  • Hashtag #MYLink. 

  • Posted between September 1, 2023 – September 30, 2023.

  • Must be a public post. 

In addition:
  • Only one entry per participant will be allowed. 

  • Contest is limited to in-state residents only. 

  • All federal, state, and local taxes associated with the receipt or use of any prize are solely the responsibility of the winner. 

How the Winner Will Be Selected
Entries will be collected and reviewed by the Houston Public Library Communications and Library Material Services teams. Participant will be contacted to share a screenshot of their Libby app displaying account activity to confirm an eBook was checked out between September 1, 2023 – September 30, 2023.
