What are the fees for lost or damaged items?
Answer
Items that are returned late will not be charged late fees. Learn more about our fine free policy! Most items are loaned for three weeks, with up to two renewals (unless another customer has placed a hold on the item or the account is not in good standing).
If items are kept over 31 days past due, they are considered lost and you will receive a billing notice in your account. Items deemed lost or damaged will be charged a replacement fee as well as a $10 non-refundable processing fee for each cataloged item or a $5 nonrefundable partial processing fee for each uncataloged item that is lost or seriously damaged.
But if the item is returned in good condition within one year of payment, the replacement fee will be refunded.
