Do you have city directories?

Answer

The HHRC has Houston city directories from the 19th century through 1986, and yellow pages through 2005. We also have directories from many other Texas cities.

The Houston directories for 1866-1923 are available online at the Houston Public Library Digital Archive.

We cannot do look ups over the phone. Contact us at txr.reference@houstontx.gov for directory look ups.

Roughly, we are able to search for one address in five different years of your choice (or 2 addresses in 2-3 years) per email request, with a limit of five such email requests per month.
