Don't buy when you can borrow! Library of Things (LOT) consists of non-traditional items that are available for checkout to our customers. Items range from kits to explore art, science, and literacy, to games for all ages, and even specialty bakeware. Don’t see what you’re looking for? Ask HPL to suggest a purchase for the Library of Things.

Who Can Borrow?

Anyone with a MYLink Card in good standing may check out items from the Library of Things!

 

How Do I Borrow?

Library of Things is only browsable online from HPL’s catalog. Just select your item(s) and pickup location, then wait for notification that your items are ready! Borrow up to 5 Library of Things per category for a three-week period per MYLink Card. Items must be picked up at your selected location's Customer Service Desk. Hold Lockers and BOOKLink cannot be used.

 

Where Do I Return?

Hold Lockers and BOOKLink cannot be used. Library of Things containers must be picked up and returned to Central or a Neighborhood Library.

 

What if I Damage Library of Things Items?

If borrowed items are returned in unusable condition (e.g., too many missing or broken pieces), customers may be charged a fee to their account after check-in.

 

How Can I Receive or Provide Feedback?

We invite you share your experience by completing the customer satisfaction survey. You can also learn about new items added to the collection by signing up for the Library of Things newsletter.
